Julia Israelski, LCSW

Describe your current practice:

Over the past 6 years I have worked as a therapist in community based outpatient settings. In October 2012 I opened a private practice in old Saybrook. I currently provide services to a diverse population of varying ages and diagnoses. While I have enjoyed working with eclectic population, I am particularly interested in providing services to adolescent and adult clients with mood disorders, eating disorders, or who have experienced interpersonal violence (emotional, sexual, and/or physical abuse) and are struggling with trauma related symptoms. I utilize evidenced based interventions (including CBT, DBT, MI, TREM, and TFCBT) to provide strength based, client centered services.

Areas of specialization, and anything else you would like potential supervisees to be aware of: I specialize in eating disorders and relational trauma. My goal in supervision is to provide a safe environment to expand my supervisee's skills and strengths. My supervision style is a blend of identifying where you are and helping you get to where you want to be.
