The Good News – The CT General Assembly voted to restore health care coverage for 110,000 elderly and people with disabilities- providing a temporary fix to the Medicaid Savings Program (MSP). This is a step forward! But there is more to be done.
Over 13,000 HUSKY A parents are likely to lose their health care due to eligibility changes in the Medicaid program, unless we help to change this.
Recently Senate President Pro Tem Martin Looney stated that it is time for us to make the temporary MSP fix permanent AND to reverse “at least some of the cutbacks ordered to the HUSKY health care program.” CT Mirror Article
What you can do:
CALL LEGISLATIVE LEADERS & YOUR LEGISLATOR TODAY!
Find your legislators here, if you are not sure.
- Thank them for providing a temporary fix to the MSP program.
- Urge them to make this fix “PERMANENT”- AND to restore the cuts to the over 13,000 HUSKY A Parents.
- Let NASW/CT info.naswct@socialworkers.org know if you get a response from your legislator(s).
