Anthem to Reimburse for LMSWs

Anthem is now reimbursing LMSWs providing clinical behavioral health services in accordance with Anthem’s “Incident to” reimbursement policy. Anthem will cover the service under the supervising licensed billable provider. Thus the billing must be made under the LCSW or other credentialed clinician. Anthem has made this decision in order to assure compliance with the parity statutes and Anthem hopes to accomplish both improving access to care and to better integrate medical and behavioral  healthcare coordination.
