My background in clinical social work is very broad and diverse. I have been a clinician in multiple settings.
These are the details —
I worked as a lead clinician at the Gavin Foundation, a substance abuse treatment clinic in Boston, MA. We got most of our referrals from the court system, from the local Parole and Probation offices.
I worked as an ER clinician at 4 different hospitals in Massachusetts, including McLean Hospital.
I was a primary clinician at McLean Lincoln Residence, a long term self-pay treatment program in Lincoln, MA.
I worked at a community health center in MA (Bay Cove Treatment Services) providing evaluations and long term treatment plans for low income residents in multiple Group Homes in the Boston area.
I was a clinician at the Institute of Living Day Treatment Program in Hartford, CT.
And, of course, I have been in private practice, full time since May 2020, but part time since 2013, starting in MA and then transitioning to CT.

Describe your current practice:

I am a clinical social worker in my own psychotherapy practice in Newington, CT. I am licensed both in Connecticut and in Massachusetts, and I am in the process of being licensed in Georgia. I offer both in person and telehealth sessions. I received my MSW in 2009 from Boston University School of Social Work and have been in practice since September 2009. Right now, I see clients both in CT and MA, offering both in person and telehealth sessions.

What continuing education activities have you been involved in during the past year?

I have completed two weekend trainings in EMDR and 15 supervision hours.
I have completed Levels 1 and 2 of training for IFS therapy and I have been a Program Assistant for IFS Level 1 and 2 trainings a total of 4 times. I am in the process of becoming certified in IFS.
I have attended the American Association of Suicidology for 5 years in a row, starting in 2018.
I attended the Trauma Conference in Boston, MA, in 2013.
I participate in the IFS Circle.
I co-lead a peer supervision group, and participate in a monthly IFS supervision group with trainer, Mike Elkin, LICSW.
I completed an immersive training in CBT at the Institute of Living.
(These are the ones that have stood out, but I have attended many other workshops over the years.)
