The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is currently seeking an experienced and qualified individual for the position of Clinical Social Worker Associate to join their team.

AS A CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER ASSOCIATE YOU WILL:
Function as a member of an interdisciplinary Mobile Crisis Team that provides crisis evaluations and interventions in the community;
Clinically assess risk in the community, formulate immediate interventions, and administer Emergency Certificates;
Provide services via the Regional Hotline to access, triage, and activate resources for people who request information;
Communicate and work collaboratively with contract agencies, community providers, and community hospitals as well as local and State police;
Coordinate care and monitor participation with psychiatric and substance abuse treatment services; and
Provide coverage for the Jail Diversion program as assigned by the program supervisor.

ABOUT THE FACILITY/UNIT:
WCMHN coordinates three local mental health authorities in Danbury, Waterbury and Torrington. WCMHN provides peer support programs, recovery services, supported employment, homeless services, residential, crisis response, jail diversion, outpatient, case management, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams and young adult services. Collectively, WCMHN programs serve roughly 7,000 people annually.

The Access Center is an information and referral source for individuals with psychiatric and related substance issues. Access Center staff is available by telephone for support, information, referrals, and mobile outreach. The goal is to provide support and information to reduce symptomatology, and to improve quality of life. Its philosophy is to maintain the individual in the least restrictive environment. Access Center staff is also available to do intake/assessment by referral to determine service needs and treatment options for an individual.
