The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) is seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Social Worker Associate to join our wonderful team in Norwich!

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
Schedule: Full time (40 hours), Third Shift (12:00 A.M. - 8:30 A.M.), Every other weekend and holidays

Division: Mobile Outreach Team (MOT)

AS A CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER YOU WILL:
Provide team leadership and supervision to staff within the MOT program;
Provide crisis assessments and interventions including risk management;
Conduct intakes for referral to treatment at SMHA;
Provide clinical/crisis interventions and consultations to clients and staff;
Provide program oversight in the absence of the Program Supervisor; and
Establish relationships with area providers.

ABOUT THE FACILITY:
SMHA is a community mental health agency serving adults in Bozrah, Colchester, East Lyme, Franklin, Griswold, Groton, Ledyard, Lisbon, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Norwich, Preston, Salem, Sprague, Stonington, Voluntown, and Waterford providing high quality behavioral health services to those with mental health and substance use disorders. Services offered include case management, outpatient behavioral health, crisis intervention, respite care, and forensic services. SMHA is responsible for administering all DMHAS contract funded behavioral health services in Southeastern Connecticut.

MOT provides a wide range of crisis services: 24-hour crisis assessment and intervention services for people experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse challenges; hospital and crisis bed screening; referrals for temporary respite; support phone calls and visits; brief crisis counseling; and referrals to appropriate inpatient and outpatient services in the community. The Mobile Outreach Team is able to respond in the community from 8:00am to midnight daily to assist individuals, families, and community agencies when an individual is experiencing a psychiatric and/or substance abuse crisis.
