Title: Part 2: “Once School was Only Scary on Math Test Days” Anxiety Treatment in 2018

Description: Join us for part two of “Once School was Only Scary on Math Test Days” Anxiety Treatment in 2018! With the continuous change in types of threats that exist in the world today anxiety is becoming more prevalent than ever before. Society today has endless access to videos of death and destruction because of social media, multiple news outlets, and our devices. With an increase in anxiety there needs to be a new way to tackle anxiety- even Apple has put out an app in its newest phone to help users track and reduce their time with their devices. This workshop will explore ways to build on existing clinical skills to address contemporary threats. Additionally, participants will learn new external and internal threats to clients’ psychosocial well-being and clinical strategies to restore equilibrium and successful functioning. Social workers have always been and will continue to be, clinically prepared to address anxiety through a variety of intervention techniques. Finally, this workshop will bring a discussion on looking at the community as the client, and different micro and macro actions toward a more peaceful world.

These meetings are free and open to all disciplines. The only fee is for clinicians who want a CE certificate, in which case pre-registration is required.
