THE POSITION

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, second shift, and has a two-week, rotating work schedule from 4:00pm to 12:30am, including every other weekend and holidays. The schedule rotation is as follows:

Week 1: Working on Monday through Friday
Week 2: Working on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday

The Mobile Crisis Unit provides psychiatric crisis services. These services include evaluations of individuals in psychiatric crisis at the Center and in the community (individuals' homes, jails, shelters, residential programs, hospital emergency rooms, nursing homes, and in other mental health facilities.) The Mobile Crisis Team assesses the individuals' need for services, and assists in resolving the crisis. In addition, assessment services are offered during normal working hours to assist clients in obtaining services at Capitol Region Mental Health Center or to refer clients for services to other area providers.

The Western Connecticut Mental Health Network (WCMHN) was formed in 1996 in order to coordinate clinical, fiscal and administrative oversight of Region 5 contracted and state-operated mental health services. Their mission is to provide a comprehensive and effective recovery-oriented system of mental health and addiction services that promotes self-sufficiency, dignity, cultural sensitivity and respect.

Within this service system, there are three state-operated Local Mental Health Authorities, which are located in Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington. In partnership with WCMHN, they provide and coordinate local clinical services. Over 200 staff including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, rehabilitation and mental health workers provide services for persons with a long-term mental illness. Approximately 7,000 clients receive services in a variety of programs, including peer support programs, recovery services, supported employment, homeless services, residential, crisis services, jail diversion, outpatient, case management, Assertive Community Treatment Teams (ACTT) and young adult services.

THE POSITION
We are seeking a qualified individual for the position of Clinical Social Worker Associate for our Clinical Services Division. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, first shift, with a work schedule of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The position number is 25739.

In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Oversee and assist in determining priority work assignments of Clinical Social Workers;
Oversight of the referral process and initial intakes to the agency in order to determine service needs and treatment options for clients;
Liaison with local community and state hospitals and residential services;
Provide clinical care/case management to an assigned caseload of clients;
Perform clinical assessments and biopsychosocial and diagnostic evaluations;
Provide individual, group, and family therapy; and
Perform related duties as needed.
