Region III Network Meeting

Title:  Love: Personal, Political and Practice Considerations

Date/Time:  Tuesday, May 7, 2019, 4:30-6:00pm

Location:  Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave., Westport

Love: Personal, Political and Practice Considerations is the next workshop brought to you by NASW’s Region III Network. Perhaps the most powerful emotion is love! We rejoice when it is found, mourn when it is lost. Love is fought for, prayed for and can be taken for granted. Love is a human need that effects our mental, emotional and physical state of being. Quite frequently, social workers support clients as they navigate through the numerous phases of love. Therefore, this workshop identifies how love is integrated into our personalities and how expressions of love impact our personal and social environments.

Educational objectives include:

-Definition of love

-Evolution and the future of love

-Impact of love as a motivational force throughout the lifespan

-Manifestation of love: barriers, challenges and opportunities for growth

-Power of love from the person-in-environment perspective

-Impact of love in politics, business and commercialization
