I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and State of Connecticut Certified School Social Worker with a passion for helping children and adolescents work through developmental stressors, as well as working with families. After all, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I use a combination of insight, humor, evidence based practices, and strength based counseling to promote better understanding and tolerance of issues that are causing distress at home, school and/or work place. My positive and supportive approach focuses on integrating calming strategies, mindfulness, coping skills, problem solving skills, and fostering independence.
I specialize in gap year consulting. Gap year is a year spent taking time off between life stages, usually after graduating from high school and before attending college. During gap year an adolescent/young adult can volunteer, learn a new language, or experiencing any number of other activities for personal growth.
I have over 15 years experience in working with children, adolescents and families.
Describe your current practice:
Currently I own a private practice in Newington, CT. I'm also a clinical social worker in a residential treatment program for Deaf and hard or hearing children, adolescents and young adults. My treatment modalities include, CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, and Trauma Focused Therapy.
