The Connecticut Mental Health Center (CMHC) is an urban community mental health center with an exceptional 30-year tradition of serving individuals with serious mental illness. We aim to to treat people with mental illness in their communities, to provide a place for researchers from many fields to find new treatments, and to teach professionals in the care of mental illness.

THE POSITION
CMHC is seeking an experienced and qualified individual for the position of Clinical Social Worker Associate in its Clinical Services Division, Outpatient Team C. The reporting location is 34 Park Street in New Haven. This position is full-time, 35 hours per week, first shift, with a work schedule of 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

Discover the opportunity to:
Provide individual and group counseling services to clients receiving outpatient mental health and addiction treatment;
Perform comprehensive assessments to guide clinical services and support client choice in care;
Work within a multidisciplinary team of providers in the care of clients receiving outpatient mental health and addiction treatment; and
Work with multiple treatment teams, development of comprehensive psychosocial assessments, crisis response plans and recovery-oriented treatment plans.
This Clinical Social Worker Associate will be a member of an ambulatory multi-disciplinary treatment team, and will provide highly skilled individual, group and family treatment; with responsibility for the development of comprehensive psychosocial assessments, crisis response plans and recovery-oriented treatment plans. The successful candidate for this position will have considerable experience in providing outpatient behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness; some with co-occurring substance use disorders. In addition, the successful candidate will have significant experience in the development and leading of group treatment for this population.
